CASE STUDY: SEEDLIP
What to drink when you’re Not drinking.
The Objectives
- Document the Mycelium packaging breakdown over 45+ days.
- Create several social media videos for multichannel purposes including an exhibition video for a launch in Selfridges.
- Capture an interview with the founder of Magical Mushroom to run through how the Mycelium process works & how it’s changing the packaging space.
Brief
Seedlip are pioneers in the UK non-alcoholic spirits industry which has grown globally. They were launching their first Seedlip Spice 94 Mycelium gift set which contained a recycled glass bottle, a glass and a neck tag made from thyme. Seedlip used Mycelium packaging made from bio-mass & mycelium, the root structure of mushrooms and it is biodegradable and home-compostable breaking down in the soil after 45 days.
Seedlip wanted to document the Spice 94 Mycelium gift sets home-compostable journey & capture the incredible story behind the Mycelium packagings roots with Co-founder Paul Gilligan from the Magical Mushroom co.
The Ideas, Video, Delivery and Results…
We wanted to document as much of the process as possible so we created a mini-documentary interviewing the brilliant work that Magical Mushroom co are doing in the Mycelium packaging space. In addition we built a 45 day time lapse video which illustrated the breakdown of the Mycelium packaging & the growth of Seedlip thyme neck tag.
Results
- All the videos we produced have received global engagement and have been viewed more than 25,000+ times on social media.
- We built 3 setups and captured over 6,000+ images which were put into a sequence to create the time lapse video.
- The exhibition video that was displayed in Selfridges for over a month and received national attention.
