Digital Bounce-Back

digital bounce-back blog

How do you realign your digital output and goals effectively to meet the new digital landscape? Here is how…

Reevaluate existing short term goals and work out if they are now currently viable and relevant within the new digital climate. If they are not then readjust/realign those short term goals to help better meet the long term goals you have set up as an organisation and position yourself towards the new ways of working e.g. focusing more on digital output, how often you are posting (this needs to increase as all eyes are on social media more now than ever, that doesn’t mean pumping out garbage! We are talking high value content) and how you are interacting with your audience (s).

Let’s say for example your content output for the next 6-12 months was based around creating new content every day/week/month through video, animations, pictures, podcasts and blogs first think about the most important drivers of growth for your business (you should know what means of marketing brings in the most traffic – check out our data blog all about this) and focus primarily on that method of marketing and ensure you use what you already have (previous blogs, video footage, animations, etc) and reshape that content to bring fourth new content that you can market inline with your improved short term goals…. BAM!

Key Content Focuses!

Blogs…

Blogs are a great way of building up your SEO (providing you use keywords, optimized meta descriptions etc), telling stories and pushing out highly useful industry tips. You could create a blog series relevant to your industry and push out blogs that can help organizations realign their strategies referring to your blogs for guidance and tips. This helps build credibility and trust within your network as well as improving your SEO ranking in Google.

Podcasts (Visual)…

Podcasts are one of the most engaging means of captivating peoples attention, if you have previously recorded podcasts how about chopping that podcast up into smaller mini-campaigns and push that out to your network giving your audience (s) short, useable, digestible content daily/weekly/monthly as part of a series to keep them engaged?

Recording video for podcasts can still be achieved if you screen record yourself and your client/associate interacting and then cut that footage into a podcast series about a specific industry topic. You can edit between both of you speaking, brand it up and get it out! Oh yeah.. It is not going to be 4k but who cares at this point it is all about getting out great useable content which helps your network & audience (s) stay engaged. If you use a Mac you can screen record with QuickTime Player (software that is already installed on your Mac) left click it and record your screen. There are also pre-installed programs on windows that allow you to do the same thing.

Social Media Output…

Output doesn’t need to slow down, stories do not need to stop being told! However you need to become more resourceful. Cut backs are key but output needs to increase and intensify as all eyes are going to be more online now and repurposing older content and creating new stories regularly sharing that every day/week/month will have a massive impact on visits to your website, engagement and potential new business opportunities down the line.

Goals Goals Goals…

Short Term Goals…

A short term goal could be e.g. increase YouTube following by 200 users per month… Just because you can’t physically go out and create more content doesn’t mean to say you can’t be creative and reuse or repurpose older content in a new way to attract more engagement and still meet that short term goal of 200 followers per month. The goal remains the same but the way of achieving it changes. We covered the Power of Post Production in a previous blog, the idea of taking older content and turning it into new stories and campaigns that are punchy and to the point. Repurpose & Reuse!!!

BE RESOURCEFUL!

Long Term Goals…

Long term goals will remain almost the same, however take into account that meeting those goals might take slightly longer to achieve, reposition your organisation with that clear in your mind and you will not get frustrated that things are not happening. Also new large amounts of patience will need to be added into the mix as well, things will be very rocky in the next few month but do not loose sight of your vision, remain creative!
